- It can grow up to 30–40 meters in height and up to 1.5 meters in diameter.
- When dried in a timber kiln to a moisture level of 10–12%, it has an approximate density of 650 kg/m³.
- Hardness: 5300 N. It belongs to the hardwood group.
- It is highly resistant to decay, worms, and insect damage.
- As a material, it is commonly used for outdoor tables, garden furniture, wooden swings, veneers, floor and wall cladding boards, decking, gazebos, boat construction, and serving plates for restaurants.
The Importance of the Iroko Tree
The iroko tree is a dark-colored, hard, and durable wood species that can be used for many years without rotting. Because it grows in water and warm climates within the African rainforests, it is naturally resistant to heat and moisture, allowing it to last much longer than many other types of wood. Thanks to its strong resistance to water and sunlight, iroko wood is widely used for outdoor tables, garden furniture, gazebos, boats, yachts, and ships. Its strong structure prevents cracking or deformation even when it comes into contact with water.
Why Choose Iroko Tables and Iroko Furniture?
Why is Iroko Wood So Successful for Outdoor Tables and Garden Furniture?
Iroko wood is highly successful and indispensable in the production of wooden tables and garden furniture thanks to its beautiful dark color, hard structure, natural oil content, porous and fibrous texture, and strong resistance to sunlight and water. In addition, the preference for darker tones in wooden furniture is another reason why iroko wood is widely used. Iroko tables made from iroko wood are highly durable against both sunlight and water for many years while maintaining an elegant appearance. If iroko tables are maintained every few years, they can retain a brand-new look and remain usable for a very long time. They are also highly resistant to rotting in water and cracking under intense sunlight. Since iroko trees can grow very large, they are often preferred for producing single-piece tables, creating a magnificent and impressive appearance. After processing, iroko wood maintains its form without deformation.
